PLT RICK HERRERA is a retired police officer who served in various capacities as Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician, range safety officer, police instructor, and most notably as a close protection operator in three (3) United Nations (UN) missions.He has taught personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Witness Protection Program (WPP, DOJ), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), National Intelligence Coordinating Authority (NICA), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), and other government agencies and private security agencies on subject matter about close protection, defensive tactics, firearms training, and explosive-related incident.
Rick Herrera is also an Active Shooter Level 1 Instructor, certified by the Advance Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT), Texas State University USA, where he received his Force-on-Force training.
